Landon defeats St. Albans in shootout to capture the 2026 IAC Hockey Championshp
On Thursday, Landon captured its third conference title in four years, defeating regular-season champion St. Albans in a thrilling shootout at Rockville Ice Arena.
Despite a 7-5 regular-season loss to St. Albans, Landon showed resilience after trailing early. A dominant second period featured four goals from Artin Tahmasebi, Tripp Silva, Jack McShane, and Nick Best. However, St. Albans rallied in the third, reclaiming a 5-4 lead with only 1:45 remaining. With just 3.5 seconds left, Oliver Linder-Bodager buried a feed from Max Markakos to force overtime.
In the decisive shootout, Tahmasebi, Best, and Ryan Biderman found the net for the Bears. Goaltender Greg Saffell sealed the 6-5 victory with three critical saves.
